Lola Lely is an artist, designer and maker based in Walthamstow, East London. She was born in Hanoi, Vietnam and was raised in London and Kent. Lola's work is process and narrative-based and the outcomes may take the form of an event rather than just a product: a resting point rather than an end point. She practices craft in fresh and unexpected ways by linking contemporary practices and technology with age-old techniques, and embracing storytelling and heritage in all elements of her work. Lola’s work has been exhibited internationally including, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Royal Academy of Arts, the Design Museum in London and at Art Basel in Switzerland. Lola is also the co-founder of Wax Atelier, a London-based studio exploring the intersection between traditional craft and contemporary techniques in beeswax and natural materials. Wax Atelier’s collaborators to date include Burberry, JW Anderson and more.
