DESCRIPTION
Original
The name Findere comes from Middle English, meaning "one who finds, attains knowledge, or invents." Henry Farrant created Findere with a vision to blend craftsmanship with the natural world, making unique pieces that bring nature and history to modern spaces. Every item is handmade in Henry’s London studio, using the most sustainable materials and practices as possible. The debut Momigami collection draws from ancient crafting techniques, on modern design, infused with elements from nature.
A hand-bent, shaped and welded steel frame supports this piece, allowing light to glow through both shade and base. The paper's unique texture is achieved through a traditional Japanese process called Momigami, which translates to 'kneaded paper.' This technique, once used by Japanese peasants who could not afford expensive fabric, strengthens the paper, giving it with remarkable resilience.
This golden hue was created from a blend of wildflowers, including chamomile, goldenrod, and dandelion, all gathered in late August. The dye captures the warmth of summer and the sunlit fields.
