WP: "What is your most beloved room in your home and why?"

Stephanie: "The kitchen is one of my favourite places in my house. It is the heart of a home, especially in a family setting where so many activities revolve around the kitchen. From homework and dinner parties to kitchen discos, cocktail making, lazy weekend breakfasts, and puzzles, this is where my family spends most of our time. When I designed this space, I took all of these activities into consideration. I aimed to create a happy space that is both functional and atmospheric.

Natural light floods in through the windows and skylights, brightening even the greyest mornings. In the evenings, the lighting scheme is bright enough for cooking but also creates a warm atmosphere, perfect for enjoying dinner parties with friends or family. The colour scheme is warm, and since our patio is small, I wanted to evoke the feel of an indoor-outdoor space, which inspired the verdant wallpaper around our dining table. Having plants and flowers inside adds to this casual and relaxed vibe.

During the winter months, you'll often find my children sprawled on the kitchen floor, warming up from the floor heating after returning from a freezing football match."
