Marta de la Rica
Marta de la Rica is a Spanish interior designer who says that she is "a New Yorker by birth, French by adoption and Spanish at heart". These three places are threads that intertwine throughout her practice, shaping her approach to design. Recently Marta embarked on her most challenging project yet — the design of her own home in Madrid. The building, set over eight storeys each with its own personality, is layered with colour, textures, antiques, and contemporary pieces, each adding to the overall character of the house.

WP: "What is your most beloved room in your home and why?"
Marta: "The room I like the most in my house is the family room. It takes up the entire second floor, and it’s where everything happens at once. We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, watch TV, work, or play board games. Sometimes we also invite friends over, and that’s when they truly feel like part of the family.
This floor also has a large opening that overlooks the living room downstairs, which really amplifies the sense of space."
