WP: "What is your most beloved room in your home and why?"
Lola: "I moved into this house last November and it's been quite the journey! Renovating a house when you're short on time is no small feat. But there's a certain truth to the idea that a house needs time to become a home. You have to live in a space to truly understand its light and shadow. Just like I appreciate a room bathed in sunlight, I've come to find a beauty in the moody corners, too. This idea resonated with me while reading ‘In Praise of Shadows’ by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki.
My favourite space, and the most well-used, is currently the reception room (in Victorian houses, it’s traditionally the area between the salon and dining room). After adding a table, it's become a magnet for family and friends. We've enjoyed countless dinners and candlelit conversations that stretched into the wee hours around that table. It's a testament to the power of functionality and the unexpected ways in which a space can connect people."
